Starting from the late 1950s, cover-to-cover English translations have been published for the most significant Russian scientific journals. Many scientists seem unaware of this fact. To make things worse, the correspondence between a journal and its translation is often obscured by:
-
a change of title for the journal or for the translation, following
the collapse of the former Soviet Union or a change of publisher;
-
different volume numbers for the journal and for the translation,
or different publication years.
Here is a table, started years ago during my PhD as a set of handwritten notes, on the correspondence between some Russian journals and their translations. I hope it can be useful to others. Omissions and inconsistencies are likely; please don’t hesitate to report them to me.
